Galaxy S21 Ultra: New Leaks details shows major upgrades from the previous generation!

Last month, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra leaked for the first time, but there were few inside information available at the time. Today, that all changes, thanks to Max Weinbach’s tipster.

One of the best screens on any smartphone is the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

While every model of the Galaxy S21 is considered a flagship, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is going to be the one most people focus on. The leak today confirms that there is a good reason.

The unit is equipped with a 6.8-inch display that supports a refresh rate of 120Hz, the latter of which is paired with the same LTPO technology used on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. That means that, depending on what content is shown the refresh rate will automatically adjust.

Furthermore, Samsung is increasing the contrast ratio from 2,000,000:1 to 3,000,000:1. Brightness also maxes out at 1,600 nits, the Galaxy S20 Ultra peaks at 1,400 nits, and even if it is not included in the box, the S Pen is supported.

Overall, the sources claim that this AMOLED panel is one of the best displays on any smartphone,” although, considering the extremely solid track record of Samsung, that is not very surprising.

Massive upgrades are planned in the camera department for S21 Ultra

Samsung is developing an upgraded rear camera setup in addition to the enhanced screen. A second-generation 108-megapixel sensor used months ago on the Galaxy S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra is leading the way.

It’ll sit next to an ultra-wide-angle 12-megapixel shooter and an advanced zoom system that includes a 10-megapixel 3x telephoto zoom camera and an alternative 10-megapixel 10x periscope.

On the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Samsung provided a 100x Space Zoom feature, but due to its poor quality, it killed it off with the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. But on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the feature is being revived, according to sources.

Fortunately, the resulting photos and the introduction of dual pixel autofocus on both zoom cameras should look much better than 130% larger pixels. A laser autofocus system will also be present.

It turns out that every camera supports 4K video at 60fps in the video department, although an 8K video at 30fps option is also planned.

Other features include dual recording mode, enabling users to record with front and rear cameras at the same time, enhanced Night Mode with additional manual controls, and improved Moon Mode.

The Snapdragon 875 and Exynos 2100 are expected to be used by Samsung

The next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 in the United States is at the core of the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Users based in Europe and the United States, however, look set to get the Exynos 2100.

However, there seems to be some optimism for the first time in several years about Samsung’s Exynos chipset. In fact, it will be on-par or better than the Snapdragon 875″ and more power-efficient, according to sources.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra also supports 5 G networks, Wi-Fi 6E, which is 2 times faster than Wi-Fi 6, and One UI 3.0.0. Those of you wondering about the battery will be happy to hear it offers a capacity of 5,000mAh.

Samsung was strongly criticised for the lack of colour options for the Galaxy S20 Ultra, but unlike the Galaxy S21 & Galaxy S21+, it seems that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will not make any improvements in that department.

The South Korean company plans to offer its next-gen flagship in two colors and build it out of glass: Phantom Black and Phantom Silver.
