91Mobile released OnePlus 9 CAD renders last week that showed the smartphone was going to have triple rear cameras on the back. Now our source is back again this time with a live picture of the setup of the OnePlus 9 camera, as well as the three sensor specs on the back. As in last week’s rendering, the live image shared with us by the source shows two large sensors and a smaller one, flanked by a dual-tone LED light. Although the new live image does not show anything else about the nature of the smartphone, we do know that the OnePlus 9 will feature a punch-hole to house the selfie sensor on the top-left corner.

Specifications of OnePlus 9’s cameras

A 48MP primary sensor will headline the OnePlus 9 camera setup, according to the source. This sensor can provide 12 MP (4,000 x 3,000 pixels) images and has a focal length of 6 mm; the OnePlus 8 Pro and 8T have focal lengths of 6.59 mm and 4.74 mm, respectively in comparison. The Sony IMX 586 is not going to be this primary sensor; it may be the IMX689, but the source is not really sure of that.

The OnePlus 9’s 48MP primary sensor will be backed up by a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens. This is going to be a big improvement from the ultra-wide-angle 16MP sensor we have on the 8T. There is no detail, although it may be a monochrome or macro sensor, as to what the third sensor is going to be.

Other OnePlus 9 details

The OnePlus 9 will have a monitor that is larger than the 8T’s 6.55-inch screen. In spite of the rumors of a 144Hz monitor being included in the lineup next year, the screen will feature a 120Hz display. It is said that the smartphone will come with model numbers LE2110, LE2117, and LE2119 and will be launched in March 2021. You should expect the Snapdragon 875 SoC, 8 GB RAM, and 65 W fast-charging to be included on the smartphone.

It should be noted that Max J, the noted tipster with a very excellent track record of OnePlus leaks, has challenged last week’s depiction. He said the data he got about the OnePlus 9 model is different from what the rendering indicates. Our source, however, says the design in the renders is the prototype the company is currently considering. Of course, at any moment, things can change. Nonetheless, since nothing is fixed in stone, take all the details with a pinch of salt.
