Lineage OS is the legacy of the old famous custom firmware known as CyanogenMod or CM. The company behind Cyanogen.Inc has withdrawn the popular Android mod, CyanogenMod that left many of its users disappointed. Few believed that the legacy of CyanogenMod will be taken forward by a new Android mod, however, it was all uncertain. It is amidst such chaos that Lineage OS was introduced and definitely it gave back everyone the answer concerning Android mod.

LineageOS 21 Overview.
At the time of writing this article, LineageOS 20 is officially available for the public based on the Android 13 OS version. As this LineageOS Custom ROM is fully based on AOSP (Android Open Source Project), it covers a wide list of device models irrespective of the manufacturers. Additionally, it allows users to perform customizations up to some extent without having root access or flashing modules on the handset. Meanwhile, periodic software updates also become useful to fix most of the bugs and security flaws.
No matter whether you’re using a premium handset or a low-budget device, if your device model is compatible with the specific LineageOS version then you’re good to go. Customization lovers can also go with the LineageOS to easily unlock the bootloader on the device & enable root access. As compared to other third-party custom ROMs, user reports claim that the LineageOS is more stable & reliable in the market right now. Whereas unsupported device models from the OEMs can also be eligible enough to run LineageOS mostly.

Instructions to Install
1. First Download & Install a Custom Recovery on your device (TWRP is recommended), If you already have installed then skip this step.
2. Download ROM & Gapps .zip file and save it on your device’s internal storage or SD Card.
3. Now Boot your device into TWRP Recovery Mode. (if you don’t know how to boot your device into twrp recovery then you can search it on Google)
4. Now in TWRP create a Nandroid Backup of your device for safer side. If anything goes wrong, you can restore back to your older ROM. (How to Take Nandroid Backup)
5. Now do a Factory Reset of your device, Goto Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Select Cache, Dalvik Cache, System, and Data. Then Swipe to Wipe.
6. Now go back to TWRP Main Menu by pressing the Center navigation button.
7. Now Select Install, Locate the ROM zip file and Swipe to Confirm Flash.
8. After the flashing completes, Flash the Gapps in the manner.
9. After Gapps flashing completes, Select Wipe cache/dalvik from the bottom left side of the screen, & Swipe to Wipe.
10. After wipe completes, Click on Reboot System.
That’s it Now you have successfully installed the latest Android on your device, the first boot will take some time so please don’t panic!
