Finally, Android 10 Q is official and so the AOSP 10 Source code. Realme 6 (wasabi) is now getting the unofficial version of Lineage OS 17.1 developed by mandeep_virang Recognized Developer on XDA forum. The device is launched on March 2020. The handset came with Android 10 Q. Now you can enjoy Lineage OS 17.1 based on Android 10. Full credits to him and Lineage team. Now you can install Lineage OS 17.1 on Realme 6 which is stable enough to use as a daily driver.

Android 10 is Google’s 10th version of Android OS with plenty of new features and system UI changes. Google doesn’t come with any dessert item name for the new Android version this time and that’s a good move. If you’re new to the Android ecosystem, it’s worth mentioning that Android is an Open Source Project (AOSP) by Google. With the new released Android 10 source code, the Lineage team has started working on Lineage OS 17.1 for all the supported device.

To install Lineage OS 17.1 on your Realme 6, you need to unlock bootloader and running latest TWRP Recovery. If you are on the old version, you will see error 7 warning text while installing the custom ROM on Realme 6 device.

Realme 6 sports a 6.5 inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 × 2400 pixels. The device has an Ultra Smooth display with a screen refresh rate of 90Hz refresh rate. Underneath the Realme 6, it sports the MediaTek Helio G90T which is built on the 12nm process. To the GPU side, this SoC comes with the Mali G76 MC4 GPU. That said coming to the variants in which it is available, it is available in 4, 6, and 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM. It is also available in different internal storage variants such as 64GB and 128GB of UFS 2.1 onboard storage.

Ensure that your phone has at least 50-60% charged to prevent the accidental shutdown in-between the process.

Instructions to Install

1. First Download & Install a Custom Recovery on your device (TWRP is recommended) If you already have installed then skip this step.

2. Download GSI ROM file and save it on your device’s Internal storage or SD Card.

3. Now Boot your device into TWRP Recovery Mode. (if you don’t know how to boot your device into twrp recovery then you can search it on Google)

4. Now in TWRP create a Nandroid Backup of your device for safer side. If anything goes wrong, you can restore back to your older ROM. (How to Take Nandroid Backup)

5. Now do a Factory Reset of your device, Goto Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Select Cache, Dalvik Cache, System, and Data. Then Swipe to Wipe.

6. Now go back to TWRP Main Menu by pressing the Center navigation button.

7. Now Select Install, Locate the GSI ROM  file and Swipe to Confirm Flash.

8. After ROM flashing completes, Select Wipe cache/dalvik from the bottom left side of the screen, & Swipe to Wipe.

9. After wipe completes, Click on Reboot System.

That’s it Now you have successfully installed the latest Android on your device, first boot will take some time so please don’t panic!
