Install Android 10 on Nokia 7.2 (LineageOS 17) – How to Guide!

Google has announced the latest 10th-gen of Android OS called Android 10 officially and Google has uploaded Android 10 Source Code to the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) as well. On the other side, HMD Global has launched the Nokia 7.2 handset recently with a budget mid-range specifications. Currently, one of the senior members of XDA Developers, Raghu Varma has developed an unofficial version of Lineage OS 17 for the Nokia 7.2 (Codenamed as Daredevil) device. The mentioned handset runs on Android 9 Pie over Android One program out-of-the-box. If you’re using the Nokia 7.2 device, then you can now download and install the Lineage OS 17 for Nokia 7.2 based on Android 10 Q.

It’s worth mentioning that Android is a Linux-based Open Source Project by Google that’s also known as AOSP. After releasing the Android 10 Source Code by Google and uploading it to the AOSP, Lineage OS developers have worked hard to implement the Lineage OS 17 (Android 10) for a couple of Android smartphones. First of all, you have to unlock the device bootloader if you’re intended to flash the Lineage OS 17 Custom Firmware on your Nokia 7.2 handset. What’s on Android 9.0 Pie?
As we said, Lineage OS 16 is based on the latest OS, Android 9.0 Pie. Android 9.0 Pie is the 9th iteration and a major update of Google’s Android OS. Lineage OS 16 Based on Android 9.0 Pie?
Lineage OS 16 is the latest Stock Custom Firmware based on the official Android 9.0 Pie AOSP source code. Along with the official Android 9.0 features, the Lineage OS 16 also brings tons of features and customization option which allows using your phone beyond the Stock Firmware feature. Lineage OS one of the well-known aftermarket firmware built by the team behind cyanogen. In the Android world, Lineage OS is the currently best custom ROM built with many new features.

Follow the steps correctly otherwise you may brick your device. We are not responsible for any damage to your phone.
It will erase all your data, so we advise you first to take a complete backup of your phone and then proceed.
Ensure that your phone has at least 50-60% charged to prevent the accidental shutdown in-between the process.

Instructions to Install

1. First Download & Install a Custom Recovery on your device (TWRP is recommended) If you already have installed then skip this step.

2. Download ROM & Gapps .zip file and save it on your device’s Internal storage or SD Card.

3. Now Boot your device into TWRP Recovery Mode. (if you don’t know how to boot your device into twrp recovery then you can search it on Google)

4. Now in TWRP create a Nandroid Backup of your device for safer side. If anything goes wrong, you can restore back to your older ROM. (How to Take Nandroid Backup)

5. Now do a Factory Reset of your device, Goto Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Select Cache, Dalvik Cache, System, and Data. Then Swipe to Wipe.

6. Now go back to TWRP Main Menu by pressing the Center navigation button.

7. Now Select Install, Locate the ROM zip file and Swipe to Confirm Flash.

8. After the flashing completes, Flash the Gapps in the manner.

9. After Gapps flashing completes, Select Wipe cache/dalvik from the bottom left side of the screen, & Swipe to Wipe.

10. After wipe completes, Click on Reboot System.

That’s it Now you have successfully installed Latest android on your device, first boot will take some time so please don’t panic!
