Install Android 10 on Huawei P10 Lite (AOSP Rom) – How to Guide!

Huawei P10 Lite was launched in February 2017. The smartphone came out of the box with Android 7.0 Nougat. Here in this guide, we will share the AOSP Android 10 for Huawei P10 Lite. Android 10 is now official as Google’s 10th version of Android OS with plenty of new features and system UI changes. The Android 10 (aka Android Q) started rolling out Huawei P10 Lite devices, Essential PH, Redmi K20 Pro, Huawei P10 Lite Pro devices. Google doesn’t come with any dessert item name for the new Android version this time and that’s a good move. If you’re new to the Android ecosystem, it’s worth mentioning that Android is an Open Source Project (AOSP) by Google. Follow this guide to download and install Android 10 ROM on the Huawei P10 Lite device.
The AOSP is a custom ROM which means any smartphone OEM can make or customize Android ROM according to their need via the source code. All the Custom ROM or Custom Firmware runs on the Android OS version from the core but offers a different kind of user experience. Now, let’s take a look at the device specifications in brief.

Talking about the specifications, It which comes with 5.2-inches display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 658 coupled with 4 GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB internal memory which can also be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. The camera on the Huawei P10 Lite comes with 12MP rear Camera and 8MP front shooting camera.

What’s on Android 10 version?

Well, Android 11, Google’s 11th iteration looks similar to Android 10 but with a handful of new features and changes. The update brings notification history, Chat bubbles, Conversation notifications, screen recorder, new media controls, smart device controls, one-time permission, improved dark theme with the scheduling system, app suggestions, wireless android auto, and many more. This ROM will only work on this device, Don’t try this on any other device.
Follow the steps correctly otherwise you may brick your device. We are not responsible for any damage to your phone.
It will erase all your data, so we advise you first to take a complete backup of your phone and then proceed.
Ensure that your phone has at least 50-60% charged to prevent the accidental shutdown in-between the process.

Instructions to Install

1. First Download & Install a Custom Recovery on your device (TWRP is recommended), If you already have installed then skip this step.


2. Download ROMGapps .zip file and save it on your device’s Internal storage or SD Card.


3. Now Boot your device into TWRP Recovery Mode. (if you don’t know how to boot your device into twrp recovery then you can search it on Google)


4. Now in TWRP create a Nandroid Backup of your device for safer side. If anything goes wrong, you can restore back to your older ROM. (How to Take Nandroid Backup)


5. Now do a Factory Reset of your device, Goto WipeAdvanced WipeSelect CacheDalvik CacheSystem, and Data. Then Swipe to Wipe.


6. Now go back to TWRP Main Menu by pressing the Center navigation button.


7. Now Select Install, Locate the ROM zip file and Swipe to Confirm Flash.


8. After the flashing completes, Flash the Gapps in the manner.


9. After Gapps flashing completes, Select Wipe cache/dalvik from the bottom left side of the screen, & Swipe to Wipe.


10. After wipe completes, Click on Reboot System.


That’s it Now you have successfully installed the latest Android on your device, the first boot will take some time so please don’t panic!
