Galaxy A70S to come with 64MP camera later this year

Earlier this month, Samsung unveiled a new camera sensor capable of reaching a 64MP resolution, dethroning Sony’s 48MP product. Although some expected it would make its way into the upcoming Galaxy Note 10, the company will instead fit it into the lower-end Galaxy A70s, according to reports.

The Galaxy A70S will use the latest ISOCELL Bright GW1 that was introduced earlier this month. It is a 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel image sensor, similar to the company’s 48MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1, but this uses Pixel-merging Tetracell technology and remosaic algorithm offers 16Mp images in low-light environments where four pixels are merged to work as one to increase light sensitivity and highly-detailed 64Mp shots in brighter settings.

The phone also features an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. It runs Android 9 Pie-based Samsung One UI out-of-the-box and is powered by a  4500mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging technology.
